Where is the complex?
Would you like to live in the middle of Radboud University campus? Then our student residences in our Nestor complex might be something for you! Nestor is a former nurses' apartment block and is located on campus opposite Huize Heyendaal, at Gerard van Swietenlaan 4. The complex has 156 autonomous studios and 3 rooms with shared facilities. Five autonomous studios are earmarked for international PhD candidates. You'll be at the university or the HAN in no time. It is about ten minutes by bike to the centre of Nijmegen and there is a bus stop nearby.
First non-smoking complex from SSH&
The complex is the first completely smoke-free complex offered by SSH&. It is located on the grounds of Radboud university medical center, which has been a smoke-free area since 1 January 2020. SSH& therefore also enforces this rule.
What kind of rooms are offered?
Nestor has different types of dwellings, 38 to be exact. These are located in the basement, on the ground floor, first floor, second floor, third floor, fourth floor en fifth floor.
The basement dwellings have nice high ceilings. The attic rooms have beautiful sloped roofs.
The 3 non-autonomous rooms are located on the first floor (type 30, house number 66). You share the kitchen, shower and toilet with 2 other housemates. There is also an autonomous studio in the complex for a disabled student. This room is located on the ground floor.
Is there a lift?
You can use the lift up to the 4th floor.
I have a car. Can I park it somewhere?
There are no parking spaces at the complex for SSH& residents. You will find two public parking spaces and one disabled space nearby. These spaces are paid parking. You'll also find the hospital carpark nearby. You can park there for a fee, so it may be handy for someone coming for a visit?
What do I pay for a room?
Are you curious about the monthly rent? You can check the housing offer soon.
In addition to complex caretakers, you will also come across customer managers at your complex. The customer managers are your first point of contact and will work with you to create a good living and residential climate at your complex. They also ensure, for instance, that you are involved in projects or other matters affecting your complex. The complex caretakers take care of the daily maintenance at the complexes and are the point of contact for companies we work with. Because the caretakers work closely together, they can serve you even better. You can read who the customer managers and complex caretakers of your complex are on the page on the cluster offices. Feel free to speak to them if you have any questions or want to discuss something with them!
