What is a Buurbuddy?
Do you want to make a difference in the lives of others and contribute to a pleasant living environment? As a Buurbuddy, you will be matched with one resident and be their first point of contact.
A Buurbuddy is a resident who helps a new neighbor find their way. Sometimes it’s a student just starting studies in the Netherlands, or someone placed directly through SSH&, such as a student with a residence permit, a high-priority resident, or someone who needs a bit of extra guidance. You show them where everything is—from the laundry room to the coziest spot for a coffee. Sometimes you meet just once, sometimes more often. You decide together what feels right. You are approachable and genuinely interested in the people around you. Just one hour every two weeks is often enough to help someone feel welcome.
How does it work?
Sign up via the form. SSH& will match you with a new resident in your complex. You decide together how often you want to meet. After three months, we’ll review how it went and whether you want to continue your contact.
