Call: SSH& in Search of the Oldest Student Story
Help Reach Former Tenants for a Nostalgic Overnight Stay during “Student for One Night”
Student housing provider SSH& from Arnhem and Nijmegen is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a special event: Student for One Night. On the night of August 7 to 8, 2025, former tenants will once again sleep in a room at the SSH& complex Hoogeveldt in Nijmegen, with shared kitchens, a festive program, and a groggy brunch the following morning. To mark this anniversary, SSH& is seeking the oldest, craziest, or most touching student story from its history. For this purpose, SSH& is explicitly asking the media to help by sharing the call and reaching out to former tenants who wish to submit their stories.
Call to All (Former) Tenants
SSH& invites former tenants from all of its complexes to submit their memories and sign up for the event. Participants will have the chance to relive their student days in a unique way – including an overnight stay at Hoogeveldt.
Additionally, the search is on for the oldest living former resident of an SSH& property. This person will receive an honorary place during the overnight event. Other stories also stand a chance: whether funny, heartwarming, or downright legendary, all are welcome.
Registration is open until July 1 via:
SSH& Requests Editorial Attention for the Call
SSH& is appealing to newsrooms to share this search with their audience — via print, online, radio, or television. Help uncover these extraordinary stories and inspire former students to relive their memories. SSH& hopes that, through your editorial support, they can reach as many former tenants as possible. The event is free for participants. They only need to bring their own sleeping bag and pillow; SSH& will take care of the rest.
“For many former tenants, their student days were unforgettable,” says Kees Stunnenberg, managing director of SSH&. “With this initiative, we’re recalling memories, celebrating 75 years of student housing, and writing new stories together.”
